Check your local library, most offer quite a few summer activities and may require reservations.
Barnes & Noble offers a free reading program every summer. Read 8 books and earn a new one! My children have participated in this program for a very long time and it’s always a treat to get a new book!
Michael’s Stores offer a Kids Club each weekend. This summer your child can participate in “Passport to Imagination”, a cultural craft experience. Reservations are required, the classes cost $2 per child.
Lakeshore Learning stores offer free crafts every Saturday
Pottery Barn Kids host free craft days and other free events every summer
Do you have a budding chef? Whole Foods Market offers a free cooking class for kids ages 5-12, reservations required. Additional classes are available at a low cost.
The Microsoft Store offers free year round classes for kids and adults
Apple Retail Stores offer free kids programs and classes
Target Stores sponsor free community events in many cities. Visit the website to find out what is offered in your area.
Kids Bowl Free – Visit a participating bowling alley for 2 free games every day this summer! Free bowling does not include shoe rental.
The US National Park Service is offering free admission to most parks on August 25th to celebrate the birthday of the National Park Service.
Regal Cinemas offers $1 movies all summer long.
Muvico Theaters offer free summer movies
Cobb Theaters offer free movies during the summer. Visit your local Cobb Theater’s webpage for a list of movies & showtimes.

Share our Strength is helping to combat hunger by providing free lunches to all persons 18 & younger at various locations around the country. The Share Our Strength website also offers information on applying for assistance.
The USDA offers free summer meals to children who qualify for reduced or free school lunches. The income limit for this program is pretty high, it might be worth a look.
