I have more basil than I know what to do with. Some is being used for pesto but I wanted to preserve some “just plain basil” too. Enter my Ninja food processor & the freezer. Simply whiz the basil leaves through a food processer with water & pour into ice cube trays (or snip with scissors, put about 1/2 tbsp in tray & cover with water). When frozen put into a freezer bag. Add the cubes whole into whatever you’re cooking or put in a mesh strainer to thaw. Easy, peasy!!
Brilliant idea! Yummy. :)
I was going to do a post on this – I do the same, but add in garlic at the same time and cover it all in olive oil to freeze.
