Windfall Wednesday is all about celebrating giving freely, receiving gracefully and living a thankful life.

Recently a friend asked me if I wanted some food that was left behind at her house. Never one to turn free food down, I said yes immediately. When I saw how much food she was talking about, I was floored, it was easily a weeks worth of groceries for my family of 7. Pulling meals idea together in my head I immediately thought about stir fry.
Stir fry is one of my favorite budget meals. Stir fry is easy to make, it tastes best when made with cheap ingredients, and it’s a great way to use up leftovers.
Just about anything tastes good in a stir fry. The recipe is as follows:
YOU NEED:
-a protein (I used four boxed steaks, the kind you use for Philly sandwiches, and steam-in-the-bag soybeans. Tofu is an inexpensive option, as is skirt steak.)
-vegetables (I used frozen broccoli that I thawed, I also sauteed some onions)
-seasoning (soy sauce is a must! I also a bit of ginger, cumin, black pepper and the tiniest bit of cinnamon)
-a starch (rice is my favorite but you can also use noodles)
WHAT YOU DO:
-Begin cooking your starch according to package directions
-Saute the veggies in a small amount of whatever oil/fat you want to use.
-Add the protein and brown
-Add seasonings
-Serve veggies/meat over starch
